John J. Zillmer joined Univar in October 2009 as President & CEO.
Prior to Univar, John served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allied Waste Industries, Inc. from May 2005 until it merged with Republic Services in December 2008. Allied was a Fortune 500 solid waste management company, publicly traded on the NYSE (AW).
Prior to joining Allied Waste, John spent thirty years in the managed services industry, most recently at ARAMARK Corporation, a world-leading provider of food, uniform and support services. He served as President of the Food and Support Services Group and Executive Vice President of ARAMARK Corporation until January 2004. During his eighteen-year career with ARAMARK, John held a number of senior management positions including serving as President of the company's International Business and Business Services Group.
John received an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University. He is currently on the Board of Directors at Reynolds American, Inc. and Ecolab, Inc.
