Stephen Mills, Partner

As President of Armstrong Franklin, Steve has both client-facing responsibilities and a firm leadership role. Within Armstrong Franklin, Mr. Mills is responsible for providing strategic vision and perspective in guiding Armstrong Franklin as a global leader in premier, retained executive search. Mr. Mills' hands-on approach, strong leadership, and delivery are key attributes that allow him to build and facilitate high performance teams, by attracting skilled talented individuals, building consensus and mutual respect.

Mr. Mills has extensive experience in the recruitment industry spanning over 20 years From his start as an Account Executive, Mr. Mills has consistently delivered peak results and successfully executed against business plans.

As Chief Executive Officer for MRINetwork Worldwide, Mr. Mills had responsibility for the development of the global MRINetwork market where he managed operations in 38 countries, giving him unparalleled executive search experience in key global markets. Most notably, MRINetwork Worldwide was recognized as a market leader in the rapidly emerging markets of China, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America

His knowledge, contacts and experience mean that his opinion is regularly sought on global recruitment matters, for both public speaking engagement and press articles. A citizen of the UK, his visa status with the US government acknowledges him as an “Individual of outstanding ability” in his chosen field of executive search.

His initiation into the industry in 1988 came as a Recruitment Consultant, placing sales and marketing professionals. In 1991, he was appointed National Account Manager at Adecco, developing high volume and outsourced contracts with multi-national companies. In 1993, he joined Travail Employment Group, an employment agency providing industrial, technical, commercial and managerial staff. He became the Franchise Director a year later. In this role, he was responsible for the development and growth of the franchised operation for the company.

In April 2001, he joined MRI Worldwide, becoming the Managing Director in August of that year. In this role, he was responsible for the MRINetwork operation outside of the USA. In 2003, he was appointed to the role of Senior Vice President, Operations with global responsibility for MRINetwork's 1,100 offices in over 35 countries. At that time, he relocated to the parent company's corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, USA. In that role, Mr. Mills was responsible for all revenue generating divisions of MRINetwork, focusing primarily on the $500M + of permanent placement business generated by the network.

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he was a non-executive Director of the British Franchise Association from 1996 until 2002, acting as the Treasurer of the organization from 2000 until 2002.

Mr. Mills has been married to Amanda for 15 years, has a 6 year old daughter, Georgia, and lives in West Chester, PA. His career has allowed him to do business in many countries and, as a result, he is an avid student of World and Political affairs. In his spare time he is a keen golfer.
